The Proposal 2004.

Yep it was a leap year & yep I did ask him to marry me! He initially said no but i’m putting that down to the fact I asked him on his birthday when he’d been drinking!! 24 hours later he said yes.

The Day.

This the 2nd time round for both of us & we had a simple wedding with just 18 of us in total at Stratford Registry Office on 20th March 2004. It was perfect in every way.

We went to a pub for a lovely meal after the ceremony & then back home to cheer on England in the rugby & yes I did put my rugby shirt on over my wedding dress for the match!

We had such a lovely day with our close family & friends with us. It was tiring, infact so tiring that my new beloved husband had fallen asleep on the sofa but 9pm!

The Honeymoon.

Well it wasn’t really as it had been booked for about 10 months before the wedding was even thought about but we’d managed to plan it so it fell a week after the wedding & the 4 of us went off to Egypt

The Return.

We didn’t want a “wedding party” but we wanted a party so we arranged it for the weekend we got back from “honeymoon” & invited all our friends to join us.

8 years on & nothing has changed except if it’s possible I love Ian more now than I did then (soppy git!) & this year, well next Tuesday we’re actually flying off to The Gambia ON our anniversary.
