Slow Cooker Chicken Curry.
April 25, 2012 in Food, Recipe
During 1 of my weekly shopping trips I spotted some new Schwartz Slow Cooker packet mixes. I have to say I only brought them as they were 99p each or 2 for £1, who could refuse a bargain like that???
Today was D day for the curry!
Here’s my recipe (although there is a recipe on the back of the packet I always adapt slightly)
1kg Chicken thighs & drumsticks ( I took off the skin & slashed the meat)
8 small onions chopped
250g of mushrooms chopped
8 small new potatoes cut into small/medium cubes
2 cartons of chopped tomatoes (2x400g)
2 packets of Schwartz Slow Cooker Chicken Curry mix.
Method.
Place all the dry ingredients in the slow cooker, sprinkle over 1 packet of Schwartz Slow Cooker Chicken Curry mix, pour in 1 packet of the chopped tomatoes & mix well, sprinkle the other packet of Schwartz Slow Cooker Chicken Curry mix & pour over the other carton of tomatoes & give it another mix.
I cooked it on medium for 7 hours stirring every couple of hours.
We had it with rice & naan bread.
There was mixed responses, my stepson who only really eats mild korma’s thought it was nice but hubby who prefers something with a bit more of a kick would’ve liked it hotter. I liked it as you could taste the meat & the other bits & the heat wasn’t overpowering.
It certainly made an easy meal for me to prepare & leave cooking & for that I thank Schwartz for introducing me to these. They do 2 other mixes, 1 for a sausage & bean casserole & the other for beef & tomato casserole.
You can find more about these on the Schwartz website.
I have not been asked by Schwartz to write this review or received any form of payment for this.

ooh I’ve not seen these…I will definitely look out for the curry one…looks lovely!
