Have you ever brought a new “super all singing & dancing” hair dryer only to be disappointed that it doesn’t live up to the blurb? I know I have & I’m in the trade so have used many different brands over the years.

I was given the chance to test out the BaByliss Boutique Italian AC Dryer. Now BaByliss is a brand I’ve know throughout my career & they have never let me down so I was excited to try this new dryer.

I was very surprised when I opened the box to see how small it seemed. It comes in a lovely draw-string carrying bag & is a great idea for storing if you haven’t got a hook to hang it on, yes it even comes with a hook. Now 2400 watts is VERY powerful & I doubted it totally! After years of using high powered professional I was positive this wouldn’t be anywhere near as good as the one’s I use for work. How wrong was I? Good things do come in little packages! BaByliss proves this!

I’ve got mad curly hair that frizzes if I “blast” it too much but like to keep my fringe straight (weather permitting!) Wow this certainly packs a punch & I only used it on low speed & on medium heat! The nozzle meant I was able to concentrate the air where I wanted it & it definitely dried my hair quicker than normal. The nozzle is easy to remove if you want to scrunch dry your hair. I love the long lead it’s got & I know it may sound daft but the cable is very soft & flexes unlike some on the market. It felt really nice to hold & was so light & effortless to use. I did have to check which switch was which as it’s the opposite way round to my normal dryers, but that wasn’t a problem as they are clearly marked.  The switches are on the inside of the handle they are high enough up not to catch them & accidently either turn it off or change the heat setting.

I’m not easily impressed but this has impressed with a capital I.

It’s not a cheap dryer but you get what you pay for. I’m used to paying over £70 for a dryer for work & I would have to say this is better than a lot of dryers I’ve purchased over the years.

BaByliss sent the dryer to some Grazia readers for testing & the results say everything :-
