I’d love to have the “odd” bad hair day. I’m the opposite & have the “odd” good hair day!!
Over the years I’ve had loads of different styles ……….
Where do I start?
When I was about 3 I had curls, at 5 it was in a bob, at 8 I had a short straight boy’s style cut, by 12 I was working in a salon on Saturday’s & went through a few different styles, blonde, permed, spiky, shaved ( I used to go & be a model for the trainees at another salon).
My poor mum used to buy so much hairspray I think she had shares in Boots! But I can honestly say my hair NEVER moved! I didn’t have to brush it between washing! I had a DA at the back with a perfect line down the centre! I could’ve been in the middle of a tornado & not one hair would have been out of place! My sister & I used to use unperfumed hairspray, EXTRA hold, it stunk! I’m not sure what was unperfumed about it! A massive can would go in less than a week. I think we had a fair bit to do with global warming & the whole in the ozone layer! Lol
I remember on my last day of school how cool I thought I looked with my high-lighted hair, well that was until I looked back on photo’s a few years later it was BAD, it was white verging on grey! Even worse I was wearing a white t-shirt & a khaki pinafore dress, I totally blended in! Thankfully I haven’t got a photo (& dad if your reading this please DO NOT find the pictures out!)
Naturally my hair is mousey brown, fairly thick & most of the time curly. I say most of the time because your hair goes through cycles & every 7 years you have a different head of hair than the previous 7 years, which is why your hair changes & can sometimes seem curlier than it did or even straighter than it was a few years ago.
Colours is something else! My poor parents! It’s been purple, blonde, brown, orange, red & black!
Being a hairdresser doesn’t make it any easier for me to cope with my hair, in fact I probably get more frustrated with it cos I know what I’d like it to do & know it just wont do it!
Why am I always the 1 who walks into somewhere looking like I’ve been pulled through a hedge backwards & everyone else’s hair looks perfect?
I know I’m not alone in wishing I had different hair & I know unless I get a large array of wigs this is never going to happen but hey ho, my only consolation that at 43 I’ve got NO grey hairs, that’s the total honest truth.
Anyway here’s a few of my different styles over the years ………….. please try not too laugh too loudly!
As you can see it changes quite a bit. Having done this & gone through my old pictures I realise what a large chink of my life is missing in pictures so I am going to raid my dad’s pictures & find some more of me out & try to fill the gaps so watch this space.
