JUNGLE FORMULA HELPS KEEP THE GREAT BRITISH OUTDOORS, GREAT

I was interested to try the new Jungle Formula Outdoor & Camping Insect Repellent as I seem to attract all sorts of insects & they enjoy having a bite of me!

I tested it out last week when we went to our cricket club where the midges & mosquito’s are plentiful & they didn’t disappoint me. Geez I’ve never seen mossies as big as they were last week. All the damp warm weather we’ve had seems to have made them super sized mossies!

So I sprayed my legs & arms before we went out & I’m pleased to say I didn’t get bitten where I had sprayed. As you may have noticed I said “where I sprayed”!  Sadly I didn’t spray my shoulders & I got 5 bites on my left side, not to self SPRAY everywhere!

Unlike a few of the others I’ve tried this didn’t have much smell to it which was nice & I tend to go out smelling of “Eau de Insect Repellent”.

This summer Jungle Formula, the UK’s leading brand of insect repellent1, launches a spray designed specifically for use in the UK.  New Jungle Formula Outdoor & Camping protects against biting insects commonly found across the UK including mosquitoes, midges, bees, wasps and horseflies.

Luckily for those living in the UK, stings and bites tend to be nothing more than a painful annoyance with very low risk of insect-borne diseases.  However, as the climate changes the prevalence of mosquitoes in the UK has increased.  There are over 30 species of mosquitoes present in the UK and recent scientificresearch predicts that changes to our climate could provide more suitable conditions for the Asian tiger mosquito which is known to spread tropical diseases and has already been reported in France and Belgium. The Health Protection Agency even has a mosquito recording scheme that tracks the presence of mosquitoes in the UK, recognising the growing menace.

Surprisingly, Jungle Formula research indicates that almost 16 million Brits already use insect repellent in the UK3.  Despite challenges from the weather, the British have a long standing love of the great outdoors – from seasoned outdoor enthusiasts, avid gardeners, masters of the barbeque to passionate campers and the summer of 2012 will only see outdoor life in the UK increase along with the need for further protection from biting insects.

Louise White, Jungle Formula spokesperson comments: “Summer 2012 will see the Great British outdoors come into its own so we feel the time is certainly right for a product geared towards repelling the type of insects we come across the most in the UK.  Olympic events are taking place all across the UK; festivals are now, more than ever, a staple of the summer while staycations and camping holidays have never been so popular.  We hope Jungle Formula Outdoor & Camping helps people enjoy all that the UK summer has to offer without having to worry about pesky insects spoiling the family’s fun.”

New Jungle Formula Outdoor & Camping has been specifically designed for use in less extreme climates such as the UK and northernEurope and contains IR3535, which is shown to repel insects by inhibiting their receptors to the smell of humans.  It has excellent skin tolerance and has been approved by the World Health Organisation for personal use since 20014.

This year, Jungle Formula has introduced an Insect Repellent Factor® (IRF®).  Similar to selecting a sun cream to suit skin type, the IRF®allows consumers to choose which repellent from the range is right for them.

Jungle Formula Outdoor & Camping (IRF® 3) can be used by adults and children from 12 months old and is available in a 75ml pump spray with a RRP of £6.99.  It provides up to six hours protection and is available from all good chemists and supermarkets including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrisons, Superdrug, Wilkinsons and independent pharmacies.

Jungle Formula is the UK’s favourite insect repellent brand1 offering a range of insect repellents in various formats from plug-ins to sprays and lotions.  The Insect Repellent Factor® (IRF®) is unique to Jungle Formula and helps consumers select the right level of protection ranging from IRF® 2 Sensitive Skin – especially suitable for people with sensitive skin through to IRF® 4 Maximum – suitable for high disease risk destinations or those who get badly bitten where up to 10 hours of strong protection is provided.
