Game Review & Giveaway :- LOGO Board game by Drumond Park.

August 31, 2012 in giveaway, review

How many of you have seen the online Logo game?  I’ve played it & got frustrated by it so when the lovely people at Drumond Park offered me the LOGO board game version I jumped at the chance.

Thursday nights at the cricket club will never be the same again. We used to do a regular quiz just between us from the local paper but they stopped publishing it, I think it was because there were too many mistakes! So since then it’s been fairly quiet until last night. Bring on the LOGO board game by Drumond Park.

It didn’t take long to set it up, you can either play as teams or individually. 2-6 individuals or up to 6 teams with as many people in each team as you want. So it’s great for big groups.

We chose our coloured marker cones & off we went. I began as question master & the fun began, the rules are easy to follow (you can see them below & trust me if we can follow them they must be easy!). It sounds easy to name brands, or recognise LOGO‘s but it’s mad your mind goes blank especially when the others are all saying they know the answer, we played for about 2 hours until I was the winner, woohoo, no it wasn’t a fix! Some of the questions seem easy (but they’re only easy if you know the answers!) & others seemed harder. We had so much fun & even as we finished the response was “Same time next week?”

I actually learnt a lot from the LOGO board game & it gave the old brain cells a good workout! It makes you realise just how many brands there is out there that you just take for granted.

As of now females rule the males!!! (we’re not bragging though ……… well not much!!!) I didn’t take any pictures of the victory celebration I made!!

IT’S ALL IN THE BRANDS…

LOGO… The fast-paced picture and recognition game – featuring a host of the world’s best-known brands.

Brands are everywhere – an ‘every day’ part of all our lives.  The Number One Best-selling LOGO picture board game (rrp £32.99) features recognition and knowledge questions based on hundreds of the best loved and most iconic brands – from the AA, Bird’s Eye and BMW to Walkers crisps and Wrigley’s gum

Number One Best Selling Adult Game, 2011 (source: NPD EPoS Retail Tracking)

The game consists of 400 question cards in three categories – 200 pictorial, 100 themed and 100 ‘pot luck’. Each Picture card features full- or part- logo images for players to identify, coupled with questions relating to the brand. The answers on the Themed cards relate to the headings, such as ‘Birds’ (eg Kiwi Shoe Polish, Penguin, Swan Vestas) and ‘Relatives’ (eg Aunt Bessie’s, Daddies, Uncle Ben’s). And in Pot Luck you’ll find a huge and endlessly interesting variety of brand-related questions which will have everyone wanting to shout out the answers – even if it’s not their turn!
Gameplay is straightforward. Each round, the questioner picks a card and asks the player to his or her left four questions about the logo or product pictured. For every correct answer, the player moves their piece around the coloured board. If they’re stumped, the question goes to the next player along. Everyone’s making for the Winning Zone – and once there, the first person to answer his or her question correctly… WINS!

LOGO is totally compulsive – a lively, fast-paced game that’s bound to appeal to everyone in the family. More than that, LOGO is a game for NOW, a 21st century ‘spirit of the age’ game that taps into our knowledge of the very names and images that have become part of our everyday lives.
Play LOGO – and you’ll never look at logos the same way again!
