It’s good to have a family when life is very dear
Their care and love so freely given makes you feel so near
With love and warmth surrounding, it helps me to cope
It helps to fill the big black hole & oh so gives me hope.
It’s good to have friends in times which are so trying
A world turned topsy turvey by the tragedy of your dying
Their friendship makes a difference to my world so cold
Oh why were you taken so early my love? You weren’t even old.
It’s good to belong to the church which gives such great support
The love and care is boundless and much greater than I thought
I’ve asked myself some questions which puts my faith to test
But the only certain thing I know is that you’ve been laid to rest.
It’s good to remember the things we did together you and me
What wonderful times we did enjoy, oh? Only twenty for tea
The holiday’s, the Christmases with the family gathered round
It’s such happy memories now that make my world go round.
It’s good to suffer the grief sometimes, but it makes me feel so low
But it makes emotions quickly rise and words begin to flow
Sometimes it helps to focus the mind and thought
Sometimes it makes me want to cry but I do not think I ought.
It’s good to think about our life here on earth
Life which had to be lived and have worth
We could in the future meet again you and I
But then of course my dear dear Ann, I have to die.
