Review & International Giveaway:- RazorPit Teneo Razor Blade Sharpener

October 9, 2012 in giveaway, review

Whilst training as a hairdresser I was taught how to sharpen a cut throat razor using a leather strap. Trust me sharpening is a skill that takes a long while to perfect, let alone using the actual blade on a real person!

During my training I was taught how to do a wet shave on a balloon, which trust me get’s very messy as you actually use shaving foam on the balloon & then give it a shave! If you get the angle wrong, yep you’ve guessed it, it bursts & you get covered!

To start with the leather straps used to get cut up quite a few times, but gradually I gained enough confidence to sharpen a cut throat successfully………….. I never trusted myself on a real face though!

The very clever people at RazorPit have come up with the  RazorPit Teneo Razor Blade Sharpener which features include:-

  • Uses patented friction technology to clean and sharpen your blades
  • Blades last for up to 150 shaves
  • Saves you a fortune in razor blades!
  • Doubles as a stand for your razor & blades
  • Compatible with all razor blades including cartridge blades, disposable blades and DE safety razor blades

The savings you can make against buying new blades is off-set in a couple of months.

So what did I think? :-

The instructions are simple, place a small amount of shaving foam on the silicone plate & then push the blade away from you ( there is an arrow at the bast showing you which way to push it) whilst applying pressure to the razor  3 or 4 times. This removes the dirt, hair and residue from the blade surface to maintaining its sharp edge.

It’s easy to clean, just rinse it under warm running water & dry & that’s it!

When not in use, the RazorPit Teneo sits vertically inside the base, providing a stand for the razor which ensures the blades avoid contact with water, limiting corrosion of the blades. There is also storage space for additional blades in the holder.

The RazorPit Teneo is compatible with all razor blades including cartridge blades, disposable blades and DE safety razor blades.

It seems odd that a silicone pad can sharpen the blades but after using it Ian said it did work & the RazorPit did actually make it feel like it was a new blade he was using.

It goes back to the 1st paragraph about using a leather strap to sharpen a razor! I’m not really sure how it works but it does!

Now ladies don’t just think it’s for the men, you can sharpen your blades on it as well.

RazorPit  kindly sent me 2 RazorPit Teneo Razor Blade Sharpener’s 1 for the purpose of the review & 1 for me to giveaway to 1 reader of my blog.
