Review:- Scratch Shield, Bucket Filter System

January 10, 2013 in review

Are you getting a new car?

Lol this is what the neighbours ask me when I wash the car! Get the feeling I don’t wash my car often?

No I’m not getting a new car, I’m actually washing mine using a great product called Scratch Shield.

How many times have you washed you car & rubbed with your sponge only to hear that nasty scraping sound of a stone you’ve picked up off the bottom of the bucket? I know I have, it’s so annoying, but that’s where the Scratch Shield comes in.

When a very odd shaped parcel was left in my porch (I’m sure the postie had a very confused look on his face when he left it) I was like ???? what on earth, then I realised it was my Scratch Shield, complete with a bucket.

It’s so simple to assemble.

Open the packet, separate the feet & place the ring inside the bucket.

Make sure it’s in the center.

It’s adjustable & fits most bucket sizes

Attach the feet, without locking them into place, working in a clockwise direction (all the feet are numbered & easy to read)

place the feet on the ring, then when your happy with the positioning, turn it over & press down & the feet will “lock” in to place.

Then it’s just a case of filling the bucket & heading out into the freezing cold & giving my car what it think’s is it’s birthday present!

As you can see my car was well frankly FILTHY!!

The water was what I’d call black, black & a bit more black!

Washing the wheels is always the main problem with dragging grit on the sponge, so I gave it a good splosh around in the bucket,

knowing with confidence the Scratch Shield would do it’s job & it certainly did.

I now how a sparkling clean car, with no scratches on it, well none that were done today & soon will have a jealous husband,

as my car’s going to put his to shame.

This is my status update on Facebook & Twitter before I started :-

Ness 2 hours ago Now I wonder what this is that’s just been delivered?!

Here is my darling husbands response!!! :-  U could wait until i get back and wash mine aswell.xxx

Errrrrrrrr nope sorry, it’s be dark by then!!!

If the snow doesn’t come over the weekend I may just be nice to him & wash his car for him,

although his car is originally silver, at the moment it’s dirty grey!

If I actually manage to persuade him to wash his own car I will be sure to video it!!!

So my feelings towards the Scratch Shield.

I give it 10/10.

It’s easy to use,

Easy to store as you can just pop the feet off again & pop it back in to the original packaging.

It’s great value for only £6.99 (black) + £1.99 p&p

It also comes in Red & blue.

Scratch Shield bucket filter system

Creates a protective barrier in the bottom of the bucket to prevent you picking up dirt and debris as you wash your vehicle, reducing your chances of scratching.
Will fit in most buckets, so you can use your existing buckets.
It can be adjusted to ensure a good & stable fit into your chosen bucket, reducing the chances of it tipping over.
Its swirl pattern and legs act as “baffle plates” to reduce the chance of creating a “vortex” and moving the trapped dirt and debris above the shield.
Great value, you can use “the two bucket method wash and rinse” method without breaking the bank.
Disclosure:- I was sent the Scratch Shield for the purpose of this review but the opinions are all my own.
