Thursday is THE day! PAIN day!

I may be getting old but I still remember the pain!
When I was 12 I had my big toe nail removed due to it being severely ingrown. Sadly in those day’s they didn’t think to put acid on the sides to stop it regrowing and causing the same problems so here I am 30+ years down the line having to have bi-lateral toe nail removal on both big toes.
I remember that day having it removed, my nail had grown out the back of my toe & had gone manky! They only give you a local anaesthetic into the joint below the nail & that’s where the pain starts. I actually cut the nurses hand with my nails & ripped the sheet on the bed it was so bad!
I could feel them removing the nail, but it was just a tugging sensation rather than pain. I was bound up with a massive bandage & sent home.
That’s where the pain really started. The only way I can describe it is imagine someone putting a screwdriver into your toe & turning it constantly! I used an up turned walking stick to help me get about.
On Thursday I’m sure I will suffer most of the same pain’s & probably doubled with it being both toes. I’m not actually sure how I’m meant to walk this time though!
After it’s been done I’m banned from standing, even to make a drink, so I need to be totally pampered, I did tell Ian I’d need each grape peeling for me aswell! I’ll leave it to your imagination as to his response!
By Thursday evening I think I may have either gone mad or killed him!
Fingers crossed it all goes well & it ends my years or painful toes.

My fingers are crossed for you that it works hun.. you’ll have to let me know.. I’ve suffered from this for the past several years & have wondered about the treatment you are getting. All the best on Thursday & hope you’ll have a speedy recovery. xo
Hope you recover quickly! More blogging time? xxx

Fingers crossed it is as painless as can be and that you are back on your feet as soon as possible. x
