I am wrong to wish the year away????
Roll on November 2013, Australia is calling.
If you read about our previous trip Down Under (& if you’ve not you can read it all here!) you’ll know we did a huge road-trip.
This time the itinerary actually looks a whole lot more relaxed, although we still plan to do quite a bit & cover a fair few miles, but most of this will be on an aeroplane.
Nov 30th :- Leave BHX for Cairns via Dubai & Sydney.
Dec 2nd :- Arrive in Cairns.
Dec 8th :- Leave early morning for Adelaide.
Dec 14th(??? Not confirmed) Leave Adelaide via car heading to Melbourne, via Kangaroo Island.
Dec 31st :- Leave Melbourne for Sydney
Jan 10th 2014 :- Leave Sydney for BHX 🙁
It looks fairly easy going doesn’t it? It’s certainly a lot more laid back but we’re still going to pack as much sigh seeing in as we can, do as much as we can as this will more than likely be our last trip to Australia.
So what do we plan to do?
Well last time we didn’t get too see much of Cairns & Port Douglas area as our flight was delayed & after a day on the Reef we headed off on our road trip. So this time we’re spending just under a week touring the area, but we’ll be based in Port Douglas.
We’re then heading off to Adelaide to stay with our lovely friends who so kindly, when we did a whistle stop in Adelaide, gave us a quick tour of the city.
We’re having a hire car & driving to Melbourne via Kangaroo Island.
In Melbourne we’re staying with our friends again (we can’t have been that bad 1st time round if they want to meet us again & let us stay!), sadly they will be heading off to their family for Christmas, but we’ll spend a few days with them. Then it’s Boxing day & the Ashes!
Let’s hope by Melbourne this is the view we’ll see from the ground!
New Years Eve see’s is saying goodbye to Melbourne & hello to Sydney. We’ve already booked our hotel in Sydney as over Hew Year & with The Ashes being there it get’s really busy.
We’re hoping to spend New Years Eve at the Barmy Army HQ in Sydney Harbour & then it’s the start of the final Ashes Test, which also sadly means our trip will be coming to an end 🙁
Back to blighty with a bump, well hopefully not an actual bump, but it will be cold & a shock to the system again.
We’ve still got a few ends to tidy up & our visa to sort out, but there’s one thing I know now is ………………………..
IT’S REAL, WE’RE GOING BACK!!!!!!
