Thinking back a year & all who suffered in the floods.

This time last year we were in Brisbane & after having arrived in the rain & sight seeing in sporadic rain, it didn’t stop raining after we left.

We spent 3 weeks in the van!!

This time last year we were doing our final packing in preparation of our 8 week trip to Australia. This was the start of my blogging & I loved it.

22nd Jan 2011 – 27th Jan 2011
Ok so I’ve been slack in this last week & not updated but then again we haven’t really done a lot other than chill out & make the most of our last week in Australia.
We went into Perth & to Fremantle again & enjoyed watching the street entertainers by Fremantle market.
Ian celebrated his 50th birthday on Wednesday & although it didn’t go with the big bang I wanted England won the cricket so that was a good prezzie for him.
Sadly we misplaced our english wallet with the spare money in so it ment I couldn’t get him a gift as a surprise ………….. it’s a bit odd buying someone something with their own money!!! The wallet has been found in Melbourne at our friends house so is winging it’s way to the UK to great us next week!! yes it was MY fault!!!
It’s sad to think our trip is nearly over & tonight the packing starts

The last week in our life!

Friday 14th Jan – Tuesday 18th Jan.
We had a quiet day relaxing at the cottage on Friday, on Saturday we headed off to watch Rockingham & Mandurah cricket club. Boy do they have fantastic facilities. It’s a massive sports complex with not only cricket but football, hockey & ladies soft ball. They have 2 cricket grounds & it was their 2nd & 4th teams playing. They play 92 overs per side per innings over 2 consecutive Saturdays. Read the rest of this entry →
Margaret River

Wednesday 19th January
After a relaxing start to the day we finally headed off for Margaret River & Kelly’s parent’s John & Elaine’s house just outside the town.
Wow is 1 word for the area, it’s truly beautiful in every way. On arriving at Kelly’s folks we had another lovely surprise as to just how gorgeous their home is & the setting is just stunning. In the early evening whilst sitting chatting in the garden a family of 4 kangaroos just appeared in the park & started eating their tea! It was fantastic to see them so close in the wild.
